Final |
For my final project, I decided to do a lidded container to challenge myself. I threw them on the wheel and had some help figuring out how to use the calipers so the measurements would be correct. Everything went very well, until the bottom of the piece blew up in the kiln so I continued on with the top and basically made it a bowl.

Slab Project |
For this project, I had to create slabs first, which is clay that is rolled out,and then assemble something out of it. I choose to do a small box thing.

Coil Pots |
For this project, we used strictly coils, which are rolled out pieces of clay. I had to stack the coils on each other. I decided to smooth out the outside of my piece. It also had to be at least 8 inches so starting out I made it 10 inches where it shrank from there. When I first started with my sketch, I had a different idea in mind with what I was going to do, but throughout the process, it changed. In the end, I really love the way that it turned out.

Pinch Pots |
For this project, I had to make pinch pots, which are pieces of clay that are pinched into a bowl-like structure. My idea was to make a small family of penguins, consisting of a dad, mom and baby. In the end, I only ended up making a dad penguin and a baby. The requirements were at least 3 pinch pots and I had four, two for each penguin.

Wheel Throwing |
I had to make a cylinder and and a bowl and one other thing of my choice. I decided to do patterns on my other bowl but it was broken.
